Aldo Sambrell — Biography

Aldo Sambrell, born Alfredo Sánchez Brell in the Vallecas district of Madrid on 23 February 1931, was a Spanish film actor who also worked as a director, producer and screenwriter. He built his reputation in the 1960s and 1970s spaghetti westerns, most often cast as a villain, and became a recognizable face in Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy, playing Cuchillo in For a Few Dollars More and appearing in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. His screen career included more than 150 films from the early 1960s into the late 1990s, ranging from European co-productions such as Tuareg and The Man Called Noon to later work including the Turkish film Steam: The Turkish Bath. Sambrell died in Alicante on 10 July 2010 at the age of seventy-nine.
