Travelers of Hope (Umut Yolcuları) (translated)
Umut Yolcuları is a Turkish television series produced by Erler Film, combining crime, action and drama with a focus on juvenile delinquency. After a planning process of roughly three years, it premiered on Star TV on August 20, 2010. Directed by Ümmü Burhan, the series was written by Ahmet Yurdakul with consultancy from pedagogues and experts researching child crime.
The story follows a police team striving to rescue young children living on the streets from being drawn into crime and to give them a promising future. The show's three child actors were chosen from among 250 children in a selection process lasting about six weeks. Zuhal Olcay plays the head commissioner of the juvenile unit, with Yetkin Dikinciler, Haluk Piyes and Sedef Avcı in the other leading roles. As a sister series to Arka Sokaklar, it featured mutual guest appearances by both casts. The series ended with its 13th episode on November 13, 2010.
