Speaking of Murder

Speaking of Murder (original French title: Le rouge est mis, meaning "the red light is on") is a 1957 French crime film directed by Gilles Grangier. The screenplay, credited to Michel Audiard, Gilles Grangier and Auguste Le Breton, is adapted from a novel by Auguste Le Breton. Jean Gabin heads the cast, with Marcel Bozzuffi and Annie Girardot among the featured performers. Running about 95 minutes, the picture is regarded as a characteristic example of the French crime and film noir tradition of its period, pairing Grangier's direction with Audiard's dialogue writing on material drawn from Le Breton's underworld fiction.
