Le Train is a 1973 French-Italian war drama directed by Pierre Granier-Deferre, adapted from Georges Simenon's 1961 novel of the same name. Jean-Louis Trintignant and Romy Schneider headline the cast, supported by performers such as Anne Wiazemsky, Jean-Pierre Castaldi and Henri Attal. The screenplay was written by Granier-Deferre together with Pascal Jardin and Sandro Continenza. Filming took place at the Boulogne Studios in Paris and on location around La Rochelle, Moulins and the Ardennes, with sets designed by art director Jacques Saulnier. Blending romance and drama against a wartime backdrop, the film runs about 95 minutes and was released in several countries under alternative titles.
