Samson and the Slave Queen

Samson and the Slave Queen (original title: Zorro contro Maciste) is a 1963 Italian-Spanish peplum film directed by Umberto Lenzi, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Guido Malatesta. The film stands out as an unusual genre crossover, bringing the legendary ancient strongman Maciste into 17th-century Spain, where he confronts Zorro, the Californian hero created by Johnston McCulley.

The film stars Alan Steel as Maciste and Pierre Brice as Zorro. Originally produced in Italy as a Maciste picture, it was redubbed for American distribution and reworked into a "Samson" movie, reaching U.S. theaters under the title Samson and the Slave Queen. In German-speaking territories it was released on 24 July 1964 as Zorro gegen Maciste – Kampf der Unbesiegbaren.
