Dawn Guardians (Şafak Bekçileri) (translated)

Şafak Bekçileri is a 1963 Turkish drama film directed by Halit Refiğ from a screenplay by Bülent Oran. Göksel Arsoy both produced the picture and starred in it as First Lieutenant Göksel Akıncı. Released on 14 October 1963, the film also features Leyla Sayar, Nilüfer Aydan, Ekrem Bora, Ahmet Tarık Tekçe, Hüseyin Baradan, Mümtaz Ener and Sami Hazinses in its ensemble.

Before filming could begin, the screenplay was turned down by the censorship board because the lieutenant pilot was shown kissing girls; approval only came after İrfan Tansel, the commander of the Turkish Air Force at the time, intervened on the production's behalf.
