Göksel Arsoy — Biography
Göksel Arsoy (born 15 March 1936 in Kayseri) is a Turkish film actor and singer, nicknamed the "Altın Çocuk" (Golden Boy) of Yeşilçam cinema. He is the nephew of the renowned Turkish classical music composer Yesari Asım Arsoy. After completing his early education in Kayseri, he graduated from Haydarpaşa High School, attended Istanbul University's Faculty of Economics for a time, and worked for Turkish Airlines before turning to acting.
During the 1960s he became one of the leading men of Turkish cinema, starring in films such as Aşk Rüzgarı (1960), Bir Bahar Akşamı (1961), Tatlı Bela (1961), Melekler Şahidimdir (1961), Şehirdeki Yabancı (1962) and Şafak Bekçileri (1963); according to SinemaTürk he appeared in around seventy films. His honours include the Golden Orange Life Achievement Award and the Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Award. He celebrated his 90th birthday in March 2026.
