Shabaniye (Şabaniye) (translated)

Şabaniye is a 1984 Turkish comedy film directed by Kartal Tibet. Kemal Sunal and Çiğdem Tunç lead the cast, with Erdal Özyağcılar, Adile Naşit and Aliye Rona in supporting roles. The screenplay was written by İhsan Yüce and Kartal Tibet, and the score was composed by Cahit Berkay.

Şaban lives a quiet life with his mother Hatice until a family locked in a blood feud with them tracks the pair down and raids their home to kill him. His mother spirits him away, and while fleeing their pursuers they take refuge in a nightclub. Cornered in the dressing room, Hatice disguises her son as a woman, and Şaban re-emerges under the identity of 'Şabaniye'.

The ruse works, but it creates fresh chaos: Şehmuz, from the feuding family, falls in love with Şabaniye and insists on marriage. When he brings Şabaniye to meet the family, Şaban in turn falls for the daughter, Nazlı. The mutual deception spirals into a string of comic misunderstandings.
