Çetin Başaran — Biography

Çetin Başaran was born in 1940 in Zonguldak. He entered the film world in his youth while working on the streets of Istanbul, launching his acting career in 1957 and becoming known by the nickname 'Tarzan Çetin.'

Appearing in hundreds of films during Yeşilçam's most prolific era, Başaran typically took on supporting and character roles; his performance in the 1983 film Tokatçı stands out among these credits. Over a long career spanning both cinema and television, he became one of Turkish cinema's most prolific character actors.
