Coşkun Göğen — Biography

Coşkun Göğen (born 14 June 1946 in Samatya, Istanbul) is a Turkish film, television and stage actor. Some sources give his year of birth as 1945.

He entered cinema in 1972 with the film "Asi Gençler" and became one of the most prolific character actors of the Yeşilçam era. The role most closely associated with him, "Tecavüzcü Coşkun", grew into one of the best-known comic characters in Turkish film and was revived in many later pictures at the demand of audiences. His credits include Niko in "Kartal Yuvası" (1974), Topal Selim in "Kaçak" (1983) and Sabri in "Vazife Uğruna" (1986), as well as "Gerzek Şaban" (1980), "Badi" (1983), "G.O.R.A." (2004), "Günah Keçisi" (2011) and "Karımı Gördünüz Mü?" (2018); on television he appeared in series such as "Çocuklar Duymasın", "Avrupa Yakası" and "Tatlı Bela Fadime".

He is credited with more than four hundred films and stage plays. The father of three daughters, he lost his 36-year-old daughter Dünya Göğen to cancer in 2018 and his wife Angelika Göğen in later years; in December 2025 he was hospitalised for heart treatment. He supports the football clubs Galatasaray and Antalyaspor.
