Where's Firuze? (Neredesin Firuze)
Where's Firuze? is a 2004 Turkish musical comedy directed by Ezel Akay, written by Levent Kazak from a story by Özcan Deniz, and produced by IFR. Released on 20 February 2004, it offers a satirical look at Unkapanı, Istanbul's record-market district, just as the golden age of the cassette and CD business was beginning to fade.
The story follows Hayri and Orhan, two producers buried in debt after a string of unsuccessful cassette releases. They bring Ferhat, a young singer living in Germany whose voice impresses them over the phone, to Istanbul, but mounting debts prevent his album from being pressed. As Ferhat tries to make a name for himself on a television show, the wealthy and mysterious Firuze appears, offering to invest in him and reviving everyone's dreams. The colorful cast includes Haluk Bilginer, Demet Akbağ, Özcan Deniz, Cem Özer, Şebnem Dönmez and Ata Demirer.
