Broken Angel (Meleğin Sırları)

Meleğin Sırları, known internationally as Broken Angel, is an American-Turkish co-production released in 2008. Directed by Aclan Büyüktürkoğlu, the film was adapted from Tülay Pırlant's novel Windy City (Rüzgarlı Şehir), with a screenplay by Leslie Bates Büyüktürkoğlu, and it premiered with gala screenings in Istanbul and Izmir.

The story draws on real events to follow Ebru, a young Turkish woman who moves to the United States in the 1980s seduced by the image of fame and fortune, only to face harsh realities instead of the glamorous life she expected. Nehir Erdoğan stars in the lead role, joined by Turkish performers such as Nilüfer Açıkalın and Ayşenil Şamlıoğlu as well as American actors including Patrick Muldoon, Devon Odessa, Jay Karnes and Clyde Kusatsu.
