Nilüfer Açıkalın — Biography
Nilüfer Açıkalın, whose real name is Nilüfer Küçükçavdar (born March 29, 1967, Istanbul), is a Turkish actress, short story writer, and musician. A graduate of the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory's theatre department, she has worked on stage and screen since 1987 and also spent a period with the State Theatres. In her first film, Ada (1988), she played Türkan Şoray's daughter. Harem Suare (1999), Kara Kentin Çocukları (2000), Dansöz (2001), Bekleme Odası (2003), and Çekmeceler (2015) are among her most notable films; in 2003 she won the Orhon Murat Arıburnu Best Supporting Actress award. On television she appeared in Büyük Sürgün Kafkasya (2014), Gülcemal (2023), and Sakla Beni (2023). The author of four short story collections, she recently met readers with Çakır Zamanlar (2025) and Delice (2026), and she has also recorded music albums.
