The Rich Man's Kitchen (Zengin Mutfağı) (translated)

Zengin Mutfağı (The Rich Man's Kitchen) is a 1988 Turkish film directed by Başar Sabuncu, who also wrote the screenplay. Adapted from Vasıf Öngören's stage play of the same name, the roughly 81-minute production was made by Erler Film under producer Türker İnanoğlu. It portrays the everyday lives of servants in a wealthy mansion while conveying political messages and alluding to the social tensions of its era.

At the center of the story stands the cook Lütfü Usta, who prides himself on his youthful wrestling days. Working in businessman Kerim Bey's mansion, he witnesses the household's closed world while strikes and marches shake the streets outside, and finds himself torn between staying and leaving. Şener Şen leads the cast, supported by Nilüfer Açıkalın, Okday Korunan and Gökhan Mete.
