Island (Ada) (translated)

Ada is a 1988 Turkish drama directed by Süreyya Duru, starring Türkan Şoray and Rutkay Aziz. Adapted by screenwriter Macit Koper from Peride Celal's short story of the same name, the film premiered on April 18, 1988. Set on Burgazada, it follows a couple who separated a decade earlier and come back together to confront their past; Nilüfer Açıkalın also appears in the cast.

Duru died of a heart attack while shooting the film's final scenes, and the picture is remembered as one of the last works he completed shortly before his death.
