Grange Hill

Grange Hill is a British children's drama series created by Phil Redmond and produced by the BBC. It began its run on BBC One on 8 February 1978 and, by the time it ended on 15 September 2008, had reached 31 series and 601 episodes, becoming one of the longest-running programmes in British television. Redmond went on to create the Channel 4 dramas Brookside and Hollyoaks.

Set in a fictional comprehensive school in North London, the series follows the pupils as they progress through school and face the dilemmas of teenage life. The BBC felt the series had run its course and cancelled it in 2008 after thirty years on air. Notable production staff over the years included producer Colin Cant and script editor Anthony Minghella. Among the cast is Erkan Mustafa, and many of its actors later appeared in well-known programmes such as Brookside and EastEnders.
