Gold is a 2013 German-Canadian Western drama written and directed by Thomas Arslan. Set in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush, it follows a group of German emigrants who head north through Canada hoping to build a better life. Emily Meyer joins this party of inexperienced gold seekers, and the group sets out from the town of Ashcroft on a long trek across the wilderness.

The journey turns out to be far more gruelling and dangerous than anyone expected. As the travellers push through vast, largely uncharted landscapes, they lose their way and their strength begins to fail. Worse still, the map they rely on leads them nowhere, and the mounting hardships soon spark tension and open conflict within the group.

The principal cast includes Nina Hoss, Marko Mandić, Peter Kurth and Uwe Bohm. The film had its premiere in the competition section of the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival in 2013.
