Nur Fettahoğlu — Biography

Asiye Nur Fettahoğlu was born on 12 November 1980 in Duisburg, Germany, to a family of five children originally from Rize, and moved to Istanbul with them at age three. After Beşiktaş High School she earned a fashion design degree at Haliç University, and before turning to acting she worked in banking and presented stock-market news on Sky Türk. She stepped in front of the camera in 2007 with Benden Baba Olmaz and Gönül Salıncağı, then found real recognition playing Peyker Yöreoğlu in Aşk-ı Memnu. From 2008 to 2011, while married to stockbroker Murat Aysan, she was credited for a time as "Nur Aysan". Her role as Mahidevran Sultan in Muhteşem Yüzyıl, beginning in 2011, brought her an international following and a string of supporting-actress honors. She married businessman Levent Veziroğlu in 2013 and had a daughter with him in 2016; sources indicate the marriage ended in divorce in 2021. Film roles in Kurtlar Vadisi Filistin and Gişe Memuru followed, alongside television work in Hayat Yolunda, Filinta and Payitaht Abdülhamid; more recently she has taken parts in Fi, Kardeş Çocukları, Babil and Kağıt Ev, plus the series Darmaduman and the films İyi Adamın 10 Günü and Sadık Ahmet.
