Bartu Küçükçağlayan — Biography

Bartu Küçükçağlayan was born on 23 April 1983 in Eskişehir. In 2001 he won a place at the Istanbul University State Conservatory and moved to Istanbul. During his student years he took the stage with the Kent Oyuncuları production of The Lieutenant of Inishmore; his acting in Kumarbazın Seçimi earned him four awards. From 2004 onwards he appeared in the series Haziran Gecesi, Çapkın and Binbir Gece. His role as Orçun in Yalan Dünya brought him the Best Male Comedy Actor award at the 39th Altın Kelebek, while his portrayal of Mertkan in the film Çoğunluk won him numerous awards, including best actor at the 47th Antalya Altın Portakal. He appeared in Masum, Kesik, Kelebekler and Bartu Ben, for which he also wrote the script. Under the nickname Canavar Banavar he is the lead singer of Büyük Ev Ablukada, and in 2020-2021 he became a phenomenon with the Mücbir Sebepler livestreams he made with Melikşah Altuntaş. In 2025 his return to the screen with a Netflix project was announced.
