Bartu Ben

Bartu Ben is a ten-episode Turkish comedy-drama series released on BluTV in 2018, running from 18 October to 29 November. The screenplay was written by its leading actor, Bartu Küçükçağlayan, with Tolga Karaçelik directing.

The story centres on Bartu, an actor who once enjoyed a fleeting taste of celebrity thanks to parts in hit television shows and art-house films, and who now watches that recognition steadily fade. Bored with routine TV work, he tries to earn a living without accepting roles he dislikes, all the while questioning who he really is and where he belongs. In a semi-autobiographical vein, Küçükçağlayan plays a character that mirrors aspects of his own career, giving the series a distinctive, self-aware tone.

The supporting cast includes Nazlı Bulum, Yener Özer and Müfit Kayacan. The production is regarded as one of the first original series made specifically for a Turkish streaming platform.
