Poor (Yoksul) (translated)

Yoksul (The Poor) is a 1986 Turkish comedy-drama film directed by Zeki Ökten and written by Umur Bugay. Produced by Şeref Film and shot at the historic Büyük Abud Efendi Han in Mahmutpaşa, Istanbul, the 71-minute film features cinematography by Orhan Oğuz.

Kemal Sunal stars as Yoksul, a naive and good-hearted tea vendor working in a large commercial inn. Süleyman, the owner of the tea shop, takes advantage of his kindness, while Leyla, the woman he loves who works in the inn's textile workshop, keeps borrowing money from him. Advice from Kerim Bey, one of the shopkeepers, turns seemingly ordinary events into a force that will reverse everyone's roles. The cast also includes Şehnaz Dilan, Yaman Okay, Kerem Yılmazer, and Fatoş Sezer.
