Turkish for beginners (Türkisch für Anfänger) (translated)
Türkisch für Anfänger (Turkish for Beginners) is a 2012 German comedy film written and directed by Bora Dağtekin, adapting his own ARD television series for the big screen. The story follows the Schneider and Öztürk families, who are forced to get to know one another after their plane makes an emergency landing on a remote island during a trip to Thailand. Produced by Rat Pack Filmproduktion in co-production with Constantin Film, ARD Degeto and several German public broadcasters, the film premiered in Munich on 6 March 2012 and opened in cinemas on 15 March 2012. Most of the TV cast returned for the film, including Josefine Preuß (Lena Schneider), Elyas M'Barek (Cem Öztürk), Pegah Ferydoni (Yağmur Öztürk) and Adnan Maral (Metin Öztürk), alongside Katja Riemann.
