Adnan Maral — Biography

Adnan Maral was born on 1 July 1968 in Çıldır, Ardahan province, and grew up in Frankfurt am Main; he is a Turkish-German actor and writer. He began his career in theatre before reaching wide recognition in Germany as Metin Öztürk in the ARD sitcom Türkisch für Anfänger, a role he reprised in the 2012 film adaptation of the show. His screen credits include Kebab Connection (2004), Die Wilden Kerle 3 (2006), Fay Grim (2006) and Tom Sawyer (2011), and he has continued acting in later productions such as Kimliksiz (2011), Die Känguru-Chroniken (2020) and Faraway (2023). He is married to Franziska Maral.
