The Slap
The Slap (French: La Gifle) is a 1974 French-Italian comedy-drama directed by Claude Pinoteau. The story centers on a young woman played by Isabelle Adjani, only nineteen at the time, whose parents are portrayed by Lino Ventura and Annie Girardot. Through this family triangle the film explores generational conflict and domestic tensions with a light, ironic touch. Pinoteau co-wrote the screenplay with Jean-Loup Dabadie, and the supporting cast includes Georges Wilson and Nathalie Baye. Running about 104 minutes, the picture was produced by Gaumont and received the Louis Delluc Prize.
