The Seventh Company Has Been Found (On a retrouvé la septième compagnie)

Movie · 1975 · 4 people

The Seventh Company Has Been Found, in French On a retrouvé la septième compagnie, is a 1975 French comedy directed by Robert Lamoureux. Running about 90 minutes, it is the sequel to the 1973 film Now Where Did the 7th Company Get to? and carries the comic wartime misadventures of the Second World War forward. Its German title is Hurra, die 7. Kompanie ist wieder da.

The story picks up with the soldiers Tassin and Pithivier and staff sergeant Chaudard, but this time Tassin is played by Henri Guybet rather than Aldo Maccione. The action takes place before the first film's epilogue, in which Tassin, Chaudard and Pithivier were shown taking part in the Normandy landings of June 1944. Pierre Mondy and Jean Lefebvre lead the ensemble, with Bernard Lajarrige, Bernard Dhéran, Hubert Deschamps, Jackie Sardou and Jacques Monod also in the cast.

Jean-Marie Poiré and Robert Lamoureux wrote the screenplay together. The film keeps the light, farcical wartime tone established by its predecessor.
