L'Étudiante

L'Étudiante is a 1988 French-Italian romantic comedy-drama directed by Claude Pinoteau, who co-wrote the screenplay with Danièle Thompson. Starring Sophie Marceau, Vincent Lindon, Élisabeth Vitali and Jean-Claude Leguay, the Gaumont production follows an ambitious teaching student who is busy preparing for her final exams when a passionate affair with a jazz musician disrupts her studies.

The film opened in French theaters on 10 October 1988 and drew 1,583,067 admissions in France. As the third collaboration between Pinoteau and Marceau after La Boum and its sequel, and following a similar pattern, it is also informally known as "La Boum 3".
