The Invincible Masked Rider

The Invincible Masked Rider (Italian: L'invincibile cavaliere mascherato) is a 1963 Italian adventure film directed by Umberto Lenzi. It adapts a work by Johnston McCulley, the American writer best known as the creator of Zorro. Lenzi shared screenwriting duties with Guido Malatesta and Luciano Martino.

Set in Spain, the story follows a mysterious horseman who conceals his identity behind a mask and fights wrongdoing, a hallmark of the cloak-and-sword pictures popular in Italian cinema of the period. Pierre Brice takes the lead, supported by Daniele Vargas and Hélène Chanel, while the ensemble also features Massimo Serato, Guido Celano, and Nello Pazzafini. Angelo Francesco Lavagnino provided the score.

Produced by Romana Film, the picture opened in Italy on 29 March 1963. It later reached American theaters in 1967, where it was distributed under the title Terror of the Black Mask.
