Other Angels (Teslimiyet)

Teslimiyet (released internationally as Other Angels) is a 2010 Turkish drama directed by Emre Yalgın, who co-wrote the screenplay with Zeynep Özcan. The project won development funding through the Balkan Fund at the Thessaloniki Film Festival and centers on transgender sex workers sharing a home in Istanbul's Tarlabaşı district; the story follows Sanem, one of the women, as she takes refuge with a new neighbor named Gökhan.

Released theatrically on December 17, 2010 on a limited number of screens, the film also screened at the Istanbul International Film Festival and the Ankara International Film Festival, as well as at a queer film festival in Hamburg. The cast is led by Kanbolat Görkem Arslan, Özay Fecht, and Seyhan Arman.
