Haze (Pus)

Pus ("Haze") is a 2010 Turkish drama written and directed by Tayfun Pirselimoğlu. It premiered at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival before opening in Turkish theaters on May 28, 2010.

The film centers on Reşat, a withdrawn young man who lives with his mother on the fringes of Istanbul and scrapes by selling bootleg DVDs. Prone to petty theft, he ends up holding a mysterious package handed to him by an acquaintance of his boss — and when that man is killed the same day, Reşat is pulled into an unsettling chain of events.

Starring Ruhi Sarı, Serkan Keskin and Bahar Yanılmaz, Pus reflects the restrained, social-realist sensibility associated with Turkish independent cinema, and drew a mixed critical response on release.
