The Letter (Mektup) (translated)

Mektup (The Letter) is a 1997 Turkish film written and directed by Ali Özgentürk. Tarık Akan plays Ragıp, an engineer who settled in the United States with his mother as a child, married there, and works in the nuclear field; years later he returns to Istanbul to search for his father, investigating almost like a detective while getting to know a homeland that has become foreign to him, guided along the way by a rock singer.

The cast also includes Başak Köklükaya, Suna Selen, and veteran actor Necdet Mahfi Ayral.
