Les risques du métier

Les risques du métier (English alternative title: Risky Business) is a 1967 French psychological drama directed by André Cayatte. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by Jean and Simone Cornec and deals with a teacher who is unjustly accused of pedophilia. Cayatte, Armand Jammot and Jean Cornec wrote the screenplay, and the production company was Gaumont. It was released in France on 21 December 1967.

The film was the first feature of the Belgian singer Jacques Brel. Emmanuelle Riva, Jacques Harden and Nadine Alari appear with him, and the cast list also names Dominique Zardi, Janine Darcey, Nathalie Nell, Delphine Desyeux, Christine Fabréga, Gilberte Géniat and Jacques Dynam. Brel produced the soundtrack together with François Rauber, and critics praised his performance.

In West Germany the film reached cinemas on 9 May 1969 as Verleumdung; in East Germany it had been shown much earlier, on 20 September 1968, as Berufsrisiko.
