Waiting for the Sun (Güneşi Beklerken)

Güneşi Beklerken (Waiting for the Sun) is a Turkish teen drama series produced by D Productions for Kanal D. Directed by Altan Dönmez, the show premiered on 2 July 2013 and ended with its 54th episode on 27 July 2014, running for a single season.

The leading roles were shared by Emre Kınay, Hande Doğandemir, Kerem Bürsin, Yağmur Tanrısevsin, İsmail Ege Şaşmaz and Ozan Osmanpaşaoğlu. Set largely around the high school years of young people from contrasting social backgrounds, the series follows their intersecting lives, weaving together romance, friendship and family conflicts.

With episodes running roughly two hours, the show became one of the prominent youth productions of its period in Turkey and later reached audiences abroad through dubbed and subtitled broadcasts in several countries.
