Movie · 1965 · 4 people

Fantômas se déchaîne is a 1965 French-Italian crime comedy directed by André Hunebelle. Jean Marais plays both the archvillain Fantômas and the journalist Fandor, opposite Louis de Funès as the earnest but outclassed commissaire Juve; Marais also portrays professor Lefebvre, while Mylène Demongeot appears as Hélène.

It is the second installment of André Hunebelle's Fantômas trilogy, based on the characters created by Pierre Souvestre and Marcel Allain, following Fantomas (1964) and preceding Fantomas contre Scotland Yard (1967). Conceived as France's answer to the James Bond phenomenon that swept the world at the time, the trilogy became extremely successful in Europe and the Soviet Union and even found success in the United States and Japan.
