Efsuncu Baba, released in 1949, is a black-and-white film both written and directed by Aydın Arakon. Adapted from a novel by Hüseyin Rahmi Gürpınar, the story follows a family drawn into superstition and sorcery in their pursuit of a hidden treasure — a premise that echoes similar magic-themed tales found in traditional Karagöz shadow theatre.
