The Red Plume (Kızıltuğ - Cengiz Han)

Kızıltuğ - Cengiz Han (The Red Plume) is a 1952 black-and-white Turkish film written and directed by Aydın Arakon for Atlas Film. Adapted from Abdullah Ziya Kozanoğlu's 1927 historical novel of the same name, it follows Genghis Khan's attempt to unite the Mongol-Turkic tribes of his region under the Red Plume banner, sending the Turkic warrior Otsukarcı — nicknamed "the Invincible" — to collect tribute from Şeyhülcebel Hasan Sabbah, whom he regards as a threat. Events escalate after Otsukarcı stands in for Hasan Sabbah's son Halid at a wedding tournament, deepening the rivalry between the two camps.

Running 75 minutes, the film was remembered as one of the most costly period-costume productions of its time; its score was by Orhan Barlas and its cinematography by İlhan Arakon, with a cast that included Turan Seyfioğlu, Cahit Irgat and Mesiha Yelda.
