Blue

Blue is a 2017 Turkish documentary directed by Sertan Ünver and produced by Suzan Güverte, with Yekta Kopan as project consultant. The film traces the story of the Blue Blues Band, founded in 1990 by Yavuz Çetin and Batu Mutlugil, focusing on the lives and tragic deaths of Çetin and fellow musician Kerim Çaplı through original recordings and personal testimonies.

Alongside surviving band members Batu Mutlugil and Sunay Özgür, nearly sixty musicians—including Cenk Taner, Aylin Aslım and Erkan Oğur—were interviewed, and the documentary also recounts the discovery in Istanbul of Çaplı's unreleased lost album. The theme music was composed by Mutlugil, Özgür and Yavuzcan Çetin. After its world premiere in the National Documentary Competition of the 36th Istanbul Film Festival, the film opened in cinemas on 21 April 2017.
