Barfuss

Barfuss is a 2005 German romantic comedy-drama that actor-director Til Schweiger both starred in and directed. The story follows Nick, a carefree bachelor uninterested in commitment, who ends up caring for and gradually falling for Leila, a young woman who has fled a psychiatric facility.

The script, which Schweiger helped shape, draws on an original story by American writer Stephen Zotnowski. Supporting cast members include Michael Mendl and Michael Gwisdek. The film's popularity in Germany later led to an American remake released under the same English title in 2014.
