Keinohrhasen

Keinohrhasen, released in English as Rabbit Without Ears, is a 2007 German romantic comedy directed by Til Schweiger, who also co-wrote the script with Anika Decker and stars opposite Nora Tschirner. A co-production of Barefoot Films and Warner Bros., the story follows Ludo Decker, a womanizing tabloid journalist in Berlin. After a public scandal lands him in court, Ludo is ordered to complete 300 hours of community service at a children's day-care center, where he runs into Anna, a former classmate who still resents the mean tricks he played on her in school. What begins as a hostile reunion gradually turns into an unexpected romance.

The film hit German theaters on 20 December 2007 and became a surprise hit, grossing roughly 74 million dollars and drawing more than six million moviegoers within months, which put it among the most successful German productions since official audience records began in 1968. It won the Goldene Leinwand, a Bogey Award, the German Comedy Award and a Bambi, and was nominated for the Audience Award at the 2008 European Film Awards. Its sequel, Zweiohrküken, opened in December 2009.
