Abgeschnitten

Abgeschnitten (released in English as Cut Off) is a 2018 German thriller written and directed by Christian Alvart. It adapts the novel of the same name by crime author Sebastian Fitzek and forensic pathologist Michael Tsokos. The cast includes Moritz Bleibtreu, Jasna Fritzi Bauer, Lars Eidinger and Fahri Yardım.

The story unfolds in the world of forensic medicine. Pathologist Paul Herzfeld discovers a capsule hidden inside the head of a badly mutilated corpse, containing a telephone number and a single word. The find pulls him into a deadly trail of clues that he must follow against the clock, blending forensic investigation with fast-paced crime suspense.
