The Family Hearth (Baba Ocağı) (translated)

Baba Ocağı is a Turkish family comedy series produced by Sinetel Film that premiered on Star TV on June 27, 2008. It stayed on air for one year, ending with its 52nd episode on June 27, 2009.

The story unfolds around Halil Efe, a farmer living in a village in Muğla, and his two sons, Murat and Güven, who are away studying in Istanbul. The father hopes the boys will become agricultural engineers, return home, and take over the family farm; the brothers, however, dream of a life in music and have formed a band with their friends. When he discovers they have abandoned their studies, Halil Efe drags them back to the village. The two city-bred siblings' struggle to adjust to rural life, together with romantic entanglements and long-standing family rivalries, gives the show its tragicomic tone.

The principal cast includes Selim Gülgören, Burak Özçivit, Engin Şenkan, Ali Sürmeli, Algı Eke, and Özlem Başkaya.
