Selen Öztürk — Biography

Selen Öztürk was born on 23 July 1980 in İzmir, to a Turkish Cypriot mother and a father from Uşak. After graduating from the Hacettepe University State Conservatory in 2004, she settled in Istanbul and gained stage experience at theatres including Tiyatro Kedi, Tiyatro Oyun Evi and Oyun Atölyesi. Since 1994 she has also built an extensive career as a voice actress, dubbing numerous international productions, among them the Marvel character Okoye (in Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame), Disney's Coco and Cruella, and the series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

She made her on-screen acting debut in the series Kara Yılan (2007), and after Bir Varmış Bir Yokmuş (2008) gained international recognition for playing Gülfem Hatun in Muhteşem Yüzyıl (2011). In the years since she has appeared in series including Benim Adım Gültepe, Serçe Sarayı, Hatırla Gönül, Payitaht Abdülhamid (as Seniha Sultan), Azize, Atiye, Çocukluk, Çekiç ve Gül: Bir Behzat Ç. Hikayesi and Yürek Çıkmazı, as well as the films Çilek, Çiçero and Cep Herkülü: Naim Süleymanoğlu. Between 2023 and 2025 she played Hasna Güneş in Kızıl Goncalar, and most recently appeared in the film Ayşe Tatile Çıktı.
