Pascal Nouma — Biography

Pascal Nouma was born on 6 January 1972 in Épinay-sur-Seine, France. Coming from a family of Cameroonian descent, he began his football career in the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy and quickly developed into a notable forward. Capped by the French national team, Nouma played more than 280 professional matches over his career and scored close to eighty goals, finishing as top scorer for RC Strasbourg during his time there.

A turning point in his career came when he moved to Turkey, where he played for Beşiktaş across two separate spells and became a fan favourite. In 2003, a celebration he performed after scoring in a match against Fenerbahçe sparked controversy and led to a seven-month suspension from the Turkish Football Federation. He ended his playing career not long after, following brief stints in Qatar and Scotland.

Having settled permanently in Turkey, Nouma moved into television and film after retiring from football, appearing in movies, competition shows and reality formats. Known for occasionally blunt, outspoken remarks, he later spoke publicly about overcoming a serious health scare, describing how it changed his outlook on life. He remains a well-known figure among Beşiktaş supporters and continues to make public appearances in Turkey.
