Nihan Büyükağaç — Biography

Nihan Büyükağaç was born on September 28, 1981, in Istanbul. After graduating from the Theatre Department of Ankara University's Faculty of Languages, History and Geography, she began working in theatre before moving to television in 2005 with the series Büyük Buluşma. She reached a wider audience in 2006 playing Tamara in Fırtına. She appeared in Sınıf and Derdest in 2008 and in Ayrılık in 2009, the same year she appeared on the big screen in Yüreğine Sor, directed by Yusuf Kurçenli.

She had one of the turning points of her career playing Gülşah in Muhteşem Yüzyıl, the series set in the era of Suleiman the Magnificent. She went on to play Alev in Gönül İşleri, Emine in Gecenin Kraliçesi, and Adalet in Cesur ve Güzel. In 2018 she played a character sharing her own name, Nihan, in the Kanal D series Bir Umut Yeter. From 2019 she appeared in productions including Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz, Seni Çok Bekledim, Her Şeye Rağmen, Ada Masalı and Adı Sevgi, where she played Macide Baykara; she is also credited with playing Şevval in Kardeşlerim. Having ended her marriage to sound technician Murat Şentürk over irreconcilable differences, she has played Havva since joining the cast of Sevdiğim Sensin in 2025.
