Işıl Yücesoy — Biography

Işıl Yücesoy was born on 2 October 1945 in Kırklareli. After graduating from the Ankara State Conservatory, she took the stage at the State Theatres in 1969. In 1975 she turned to singing and released her first single, Çalamazsın Mutluluğu; in 1978 she founded her own label, Orient Plak, and put out four records.

From 1981 she began appearing in film and television; her first series was the TRT production Dokuz Sütuna Sekiz Manşet, written by Atilla İlhan. She became known for the series Çemberimde Gül Oya (2004), Kara Para Aşk (2014) and Aşk ve Mavi (2016) and the films Prensesin Uykusu (2010) and Unutursam Fısılda (2014). An Adana Film Festival award winner, she recently appeared in the film Haydi Tut Elimi (2025).
