Hande Erçel — Biography

Hande Erçel is a Turkish actress and model born on November 24, 1993, in Bandırma, Balıkesir. She received her education at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts; in 2012, she came second in the Miss Civilization of the World beauty pageant held in Azerbaijan.

She first appeared in front of the camera in supporting roles in the TV series Çalıkuşu (2013-2014); after acting in Çılgın Dersane Üniversitede (2014) and Hayat Ağacı, her star shone in 2015 as Selin in Güneşin Kızları. In 2016-2017, her portrayal of Hayat in Aşk Laftan Anlamaz garnered significant international attention; this was followed by Siyah İnci (2017-2018), Halka, and Azize (2019). Sen Çal Kapımı (2020-2021), in which she shared the lead roles with Kerem Bürsin, became an international phenomenon, being among the productions sold to over ninety countries.

In 2023-2024, she starred alongside Burak Deniz in Bambaşka Biri (Someone Different), playing prosecutor Leyla Gediz; the series won the Rose d'Or and the Seoul International Drama Awards. She entered the film industry in 2024 with the box office hit Mest-i Aşk (Infatuation with Love); and in 2025, she took on a leading role in the Netflix romantic film Rüzgâra Bırak (Let It Go to the Wind). Erçel, who has the most followers among Turkish actresses on Instagram, has received numerous awards throughout her career.
