Engin Öztürk — Biography

The fourth child of a retired soldier and a homemaker, Ahmet Engin Öztürk was born on 28 September 1986 in Eskişehir, of Bulgarian-Turkish descent on his father's side and Thessaloniki-Turkish on his mother's; after eight years playing volleyball, he entered the İzmir Air Force NCO school in 2003, graduated in 2005, then found the military unsuited to him and studied theatre at Hacettepe University's State Conservatory from 2008 to 2012.

He became known playing Selim Yaşaran in the 2010 series Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne?; having worked as a bartender at a bar owned by actor Erdal Beşikçioğlu as a student, he then played Komiser Emre in Behzat Ç., Şehzade Selim in Muhteşem Yüzyıl (2013), Yusuf in Hatırla Gönül (2015) and Kerem Özkan in Yüksek Sosyete (2015). He played Levent Topal in Netflix's first Turkish production, Hakan: Muhafız (2018-2020), appeared in Yüzleşme and Biz Böyleyiz in 2019, took the roles of Gölge in 50m2 (2021), Özgür in Sıfırıncı Gün and Sadun in Annenin Sırrıdır Çocuk (2022), and played Barış Tunahan opposite Demet Özdemir in Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir. After losing his sister, lawyer Berrin Öztürk, to a heart attack in 2017, he announced in 2026 that he was taking a break from acting and became the face of a menswear brand.
