Zare

Zare is a 1926 silent film by Hamo Beknazaryan, one of the founding figures of Armenian cinema. A pioneering work in bringing the life of the Yazidi community to the screen, this Armenfilm production tells the love story of young Zare and the shepherd Seydo under the shadow of tradition and tyranny. Hıraçya Nersesyan appears in the cast. Noted for its ethnographic richness, the film is counted among the significant works of Soviet silent cinema.
