David Bek

David Bek is a 1943 Soviet historical drama directed by Armenian filmmaker Hamo Beknazarian, which premiered in Moscow on February 14, 1944. Adapted from Raffi's 1882 novel of the same name, it tells the story of the Armenian nobleman and revolutionary David Bek, who led his people's struggle for freedom against Persian conquerors in the early eighteenth century.

Produced by Armenfilm during the Second World War, the film channels the patriotic spirit of its era through this historical figure. The screenplay was written by Beknazarian together with Yakov Dukor and Saghatel Harutyunyan; the cast member recorded on our site is Hıraçya Nersesyan.
