Poison Ivy (La Môme vert-de-gris)

Poison Ivy, known in French as La Môme vert-de-gris, is a French crime film released in 1953. It was the first feature Bernard Borderie directed and also the first film of the American-born French actor Eddie Constantine. Running about 97 minutes, it opened in France on May 27, 1953 and in West Germany on July 30, 1954.

The plot centres on FBI agent Lemmy Caution and his investigation of a gold-smuggling operation in Casablanca. The film gave Constantine his first turn as Caution. Alongside Dario Moreno, Georges Wilson and Jess Hahn, the cast features Dominique Wilms, Howard Vernon, Gaston Modot and Giani Esposito.

Borderie wrote the screenplay with Jacques Berland. The story is drawn from Peter Cheyney's Lemmy Caution novel of the same name, published in 1937. In 1945 that book had been the first title to appear in Marcel Duhamel's Série noire collection.
