Ten Foot, on Horse, and on Wheels (On Foot, on Horse, and on Wheels) (translated)

Movie · 1957 · 2 people

On Foot, on Horse, and on Wheels is the American title of the 1957 French comedy À pied, à cheval et en voiture, directed by Maurice Delbez from a screenplay by Jacques Antoine. The French-language production runs about 87 minutes and features Darry Cowl among its cast. The picture holds a special place in film history because it gave Jean-Paul Belmondo his first appearance on screen. Released in France in 1957, it proved enormously popular with local audiences, drawing well over three million admissions at the box office. That success was strong enough to inspire a follow-up film, A Dog, a Mouse, and a Sputnik, which continued in the same comic spirit. Today it is remembered both as a notable hit of 1950s French popular cinema and as the starting point of Belmondo's long screen career.
